OpenAI Launches GPT-6.1 Terra
OpenAI releases GPT-6.1 Terra, enhancing speed and efficiency for enterprise tasks.
OpenAI has released GPT-6.1 Terra, a model that enhances visual reasoning and computer use while providing clearer, more natural writing. Compared to its predecessor, GPT-5.6 Terra, the new model offers a 50% reduction in standard API prices and excels in communication and computer-based tasks, such as drafting proposals and editing videos. GPT-6.1 Terra is accessible through the OpenAI API and available to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex. OpenAI claims that GPT-6.1 Terra scores 15 percentage points higher than GPT-5.6 Terra on the Agents’ Last Exam benchmark at medium reasoning effort, at about one-third the cost. Additionally, it outperforms GPT-5.6 Terra in visual reasoning on the MMMU-Pro benchmark and shows significant improvements in factuality and coding capabilities, reducing error rates and solving more complex tasks.
